Bands sought for Garage Rock

The Toledo-Lucas County Pubic Library is scheduled to host Garage Rock III this July in the library's downtown parking garage, 325 Michigan St. This year's four-week live music series hopes to gather about a dozen bands and groups from northwest Ohio to perform in the free, all-ages shows.

Those interested may submit a demo via postal mail to the library, c/o Rhonda Sewell, 325 Michigan St., Toledo, OH, 43624-1628, or e-mail to rsewell@toledolibrary.org.

Works will not be returned, nor will profanity or lewd lyrics be accepted. Bands and groups accepted will be contacted in June. Dates and times for Garage Rock III will be announced at the end of May. Information: 419-259-5381.

Daniel O'Donnell will be in concert at 3 p.m. May 22 in the SeaGate Convention Centre, 401 Jefferson Ave. The Dublin singer blends country music, inspirational songs, '60s pop and easy listening, and Irish ballads. Tickets are $39.50, $49.50 and $65.50. Information: 800-628-8687.

A free concert featuring the modern folk music of Canadian harpist Timothy Harper and contemporary and traditional tunes by the Toledo group Tapestry will take place at 7 p.m. May 24 in Trinity Church, 1 Trinity Plaza. Information: 419-478-4177.
