Findlay teen killed in single-vehicle crash

FINDLAY — A 16-year-old Findlay boy was killed yesterday when the sport utility vehicle he was driving crashed on Hancock County’s Liberty Township Road 89 just west of the city, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Zachary Morgan, who was trapped in the SUV for a time, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, troopers at the patrol’s Findlay post said.

The crash occurred about 5:07 p.m. two miles west of Stanford Parkway.

Young Morgan was westbound on Road 89, when he failed to round a series of curves, causing the SUV to go off the north side of the road. The vehicle then overturned and struck a tree, troopers said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
