Armed robbers hit 2 check-cashing firms

BOWLING GREEN — Authorities reported robberies less than an hour apart at Wood County check-cashing businesses — one in Bowling Green and the other in Perrysburg Township.

A gunman entered Check into Cash on South Main Street about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, demanded cash, and then forced an employee into the restroom before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money, Bowling Green police said.

Less than an hour later, a man with a handgun robbed the Advanced America Cash, 10089 Fremont Pike, in Perrysburg Township about 5:10 p.m. of an unspecified amount of money, authorities said.
