Falcons dismiss defensive lineman

BOWLING GREEN - Senior defensive lineman Michael Ream has been dismissed from the Bowling Green State University football for a violation of team rules.

Ream played in all 12 games last season, starting 10. He recorded 27 tackles, three for a loss, and had one interception in 2008.

"We are disappointed that we had to take this step, but when a student-athlete makes a poor decision, he must live with the consequences of his decision," coach Dave Clawson said in a statement.

BG assistant director of athletic communications Dave Meyer did not provide details on Ream's release and said Clawson would have no further comment.

Bowling Green and BGSU police departments confirmed Ream had not been arrested recently.
