Toledo police investigate sexual assault on Xenia girls
Toledo police are investigating a sexual assault case involving a 30-year old Ann Arbor man and two girls from Xenia, Ohio, authorities said.
The girls, who are 12 and 13 years of age, were safely back home Wednesday night, according to Toledo police.
Sgt. Sam Harris of the Toledo Police Department's Special Victims Unit said the man Wednesday afternoon came from Ann Arbor to Xenia, where he picked up the girls, whom he had met online at MySpace.com. The man took the girls, whom police have described as runaways, to a Toledo parking garage, where he photographed them in various states of nudity.
"He then forced them to engage in sex acts [with him] in order to gain their freedom," Sergeant Harris said.
After the acts took place, the man let the girls go and they got on a TARTA bus where a good Samaritan became concerned about their safety, the sergeant said.
A police report in the matter was filed about 10 p.m. Wednesday. The ongoing investigation also involves Ann Arbor and Xenia police.
