Third Thursday Art Walk set for Thursday night in Warehouse District

The Art Zone Third Thursday Art Walk will be held from 6-9 tonight in the Warehouse District, downtown, presented by the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo. Browse affordable artwork from local artists and enjoy live music and art demonstrations. Participants include the studio of Carol Imes-Luscombe and the studio of John Luscombe, the MMK Gallery, 20 North Gallery, Sur St. Clair, the gallery above Jack Wilson's Studio, the first-floor office of Paul R. Sullivan, the Little Gallery, Bozart's Fine Art and Music Gallery, SouthWing Gallery, Olive Street Studios, Bartley Lofts lobby, Hannon's Block Building, the Secor Building, the Ford Gallery, Madhouse Gallery, Truth Art Gallery, and the Collingwood Arts Center.



The Glass City Quilt Commission will host the Kaleidoscope of Quilts XIV Show and Competition tomorrow and Saturday at the Franciscan Center at Lourdes College, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania. The well-respected regional show features approximately 200 wallhangings, quilts, and quilted garments from throughout the country and by area quilter. The show also includes mini-classes, a style show on Saturday, and an extensive merchant's mall, and special exhibits. Show hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. tomorrow, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 for a one day pass, $8 for a two day pass, and $2 for children ages 5-12 years old.



Star 105.5 and the Perrysburg Area Arts Council are joining together to put on a big birthday bash, the July Jam Party to commemorate the 20th birthday of the PAAC from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. July 18 at the Shoppes at River Place, 26611 North Dixie Hwy., in Perrysburg for the 21-and-older crowd. Local Irish/Celtic band Extra Stout will open for headliner entertainers, the Reaganomics. The celebration also includes a visual arts show and sale, and an art exhibit on the sidewalk of the Shoppes open to the public outside the July Jam party area.



The Music Under the Stars concert series featuring the Toledo Concert Band under the direction of Sam Szor continues at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Toledo Zoo amphitheatre, 2700 Broadway. The theme this week is “Clearly USA.” The Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Men's Barbershop Harmony Chorus, the Voices of Harmony, under the direction of Randy Baughman and CC Snyder will be guest performers along with the Bowling Green Organists Guild.



Toledo's Runway Rivalry Fashion Model Showdown will hold a Casting Call to choose one male and one female model as Toledo's Next Fashion Models. They will be featured in the Epic Rocks Fashion show on Sept. 26. The casting call will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Entertainment District at Levis Commons in Perrysburg. Final judging will be held from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 9 at Levis Commons. Finalists must be present to win. Starbound NYC, will offer free model training at noon Friday. Call 419-474-4777 to register.



A Midsummer Night Up On the Roof takes place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Main Branch of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, 325 Michigan St. Attire is casual cocktail — no ties allowed. The event, which features music and grazing, will be held rain or shine. It is presented by the Library Legacy Foundation and benefits youth services. Tickets are $75 each with a cash bar. The Northwest Ohio Home Tour, to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, will be held this weekend at a one-of-a-kind Mediterranean style home at 2600 Hasty Rd. Tour hours are 4-8 p.m. tomorrow, and noon-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Donations will go to help the foundation find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. Information: jdrf.org/northwestohio under “third party events.”

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s Madison Rayne, who appears on Thursday nights on Spike TV, will appear in Sandusky, competing against Ohio's top female wrestler, Hailey Hatred, at 6:30 tonight at Ghostly Manor Thrill Center, 3319 Milan Rd. The all-ages event, “Damage Control,” will also feature the male athletes of Hybrid Wrestling. Tickets will be available at the door.
