360 Fitness in Maumee will close in 2 weeks

Six-year-old 360 Fitness on Tollgate Road in Maumee will close Oct. 15.

The 24,000-square-foot gym has had difficulty with profitability since opening in 2003 and lost about 15 percent of members this year when an outlet of the Urban Active Fitness chain opened nearby on Conant Street, said Roy Clark, vice president of owner J-F Enterprises Inc. in Perrysburg. The fitness facility has about 800 members, he estimated.

Mr. Clark said the decision to close was unrelated to problems at J-F’s Barney’s Convenience Mart chain, which last month briefly stopped gasoline sales at many stores and closed seven smaller outlets.
