Warden suspended until resolution of DUI case
BOWLING GREEN — A deputy dog warden was suspended without pay by Wood County commissioners Friday while her drunken driving case is pending in Bowling Green Municipal Court.
Commissioners agreed 2-0 Thursday to suspend Nora Davis, a deputy dog warden since September, 1996.
She was off duty when arrested Sept. 8 for driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain reasonable control.
County Administrator Andrew Kalmar said Ms. Davis’ driving privileges were suspended by the court, but she was permitted to continue working at the dog shelter.
Although the court subsequently granted her occupational driving privileges, Mr. Kalmar said she could not drive a county vehicle on the advice of the county’s insurance company.
Because her court case has been postponed until Nov. 25, commissioners decided to suspend her without pay because of the scheduling and manpower considerations, Mr. Kalmar said.
