3 presentations scheduled at the art museum

James Raven will speak about his new book, The Artist's Eyes: Vision and the History of Art, at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Little Theater at the Toledo Museum of Art. He'll also sign copies of the book at Borders bookstore, 5001 Monroe St., from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 14. Raven, an opthalmologist, lives in Sylvania Township. He co-authored the 224-page hard cover with Michael F. Marmor, an expert in retinal disease and physiology.
Also at the museum, Larry Nichols, curator of European and American painting and sculpture before 1900, will speak tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. about the art of books and the written word. Meet in Libbey Court. The next gallery talk will be at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20 with Tom Loeffler, collections manager for works on paper.
Comic book historian Jim Beard will speak at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Little Theater.

Quartet Bernadette will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Georgette's Grounds & Gifts, 311 Conant St. in Maumee, where paintings and photographs by members of Prizm Creative Community will be displayed through November
•Greg Jones, Tom Marino, Sally Hobbib Rumman, Neil Frankenhauser, Jan Dyer, Phil Hazard, Dustyn Bork, Jan Thomas, and Glenn Osborn are selling their paintings, prints, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, and glass through Nov. 28 at the Hudson Gallery, 5645 North Main St. in Sylvania. A reception will be 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 14.

A show of 60 portraits at the Toledo Artists' Club continues through Nov. 19 in the club's gallery at Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Drive. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Art of Punishment: The Spectacle of the Body on the Streets of Constantinople, will be discussed by Galina Tirnanic, art historian at the Getty Research Institute, at 6 p.m. Monday in Bowling Green State University's Fine Arts Center, Room 1101.
Also at BGSU, the artist Ghosh, of Ohio University, will speak about the Phenomenological Relationship Between 'Image' and 'Architecture' in Site-Specific Installations at 5 p.m. Nov. 12 in Room 1101 of the Fine Arts Center.

Monclova's Annual Regional Art Show, at which 25 artists and crafters will sell their wares, will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Monclova Community Center, 8115 Monclova Rd., three miles west of St. Luke's Hospital.

A 2010 calendar, BG Through a Child's Eyes, features artwork by 28 primary school students in Bowling Green. The calendar is for sale for $15 at many downtown B.G. stores. Proceeds support landscaping, snow removal, and holiday decorating in downtown B.G. Calendars include city and school information.

Element of Place, the photographs of Tyler Brown, is exhibited through Nov. 24 in the Library Gallery at the Findlay-area campus of Owens Community College. A reception is 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Watercolors by Marilyn Brewer are displayed in the first and second-floor galleries in Old Main at the University of Findlay through Nov. 30. A reception will be 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Metalsmith David Huang, of Sand Lake, Mich., will show his work in the Klemm Gallery at Siena Heights University in Adrian Nov. 10 through Dec. 10.
