Wayne officer indicted for illegal database use
BOWLING GREEN — A Wood County grand jury has indicted a former Wayne, Ohio, police officer for using a computerized statewide database for nonbusiness inquiries.
Ricky Goatee, Jr., 34, of Fremont was indicted on six counts of theft in office stemming from incidents that occurred last April and May. He is to be arraigned Nov. 17 by Wood County Common Pleas Judge Robert Pollex.
Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson said the former officer was using the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway access “to run information on people who had no connection to the police department.”
