Michigan deputies investigate attempted murder

MONROE — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate an armed robbery and attempted murder incident over the weekend in which the suspect shot twice at the victim.

Early Saturday morning a 27-year-old man was stopped at the intersection of Cole Road and Vivian Road in Monroe County’s Frenchtown Township when he was approached by an unknown man, deputies said.

The man opened the passenger door to the victim’s truck and demanded money at gunpoint, deputies said.

There was a brief struggle and the suspect fire two rounds that hit the windshield and passenger side of the truck, deputies said.

The suspect fled with about $140 stolen from the victim, deputies said.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery and attempted murder is asked to call the detective bureau, 734-240-7530.
