Huron County man indicted on theft, forgery charges

PORT CLINTON - A Huron County man has been charged with committing credit-card fraud against an elderly Clay Township couple and stealing several guns from their home.

Lynn C. Spaulding, 57, faces four counts of theft and one count of forgery, according to indictments filed yesterday in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court.

Clay Township police said Mr. Spaulding forged a credit-card application in the name of a township resident last fall, then ran up several thousand dollars in charges.

Police said the alleged firearm theft occurred in March.

The grand jury also indicted Andre Wilson, 37, of Sandusky on charges of trafficking in drugs, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving under suspension, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to authorities, Mr. Wilson had several bags of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia in his car when he was stopped March 18 in Danbury Township.
