February 20, 1959 - April 20, 2024
Judith L. Zavac, 65, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born February 20, 1959, in Wauseon, Ohio, to Richard and Marie (Johnson) Dominique. Judy was the 11th of 13 children. She attended St. Richard Grade School and graduated from Evergreen High School with the class of 1977.
She met Mike Zavac at a Catholic singles dance in 1996. They married in September, 1997 and spent 27 years together.
Judy was truly happy baking, gardening, and cooking for the children at St. Joseph School where she knew each student by name. She also enjoyed camping with her extended family at Lake Harrison and many other campgrounds. To hear Judy's infectious laugh always made one laugh with her!
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janet Walsh; and brothers, Fred and Jim Dominique. She is survived by her husband, Mike; and her beloved daughter, Brittany. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Sharon Pinkelman, Corwin (Jane) Dominique, Dan Dominique, Jean (Dave) Dunbar, Mark (Kathy) Dominique, Jackie (Steve) Weiler, Joe (Katrinka) Dominique, Dale (Cheryl) Dominique, and Luke (Suann) Dominique. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, each of whom were very special to her.
Judy faced her illness with tremendous faith, courage, and strength. The family wishes to thank Dr. Carey and his hepatology team for the excellent care she received at the Cleveland Clinic.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, on Thursday, April 25, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway St., Maumee. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Joseph's School or Parish.

Harmon H. Benschoter of Grand Rapids, Ohio, passed away April 20, 2024, at the age of 89. Harmon was born May 25, 1934, to Sylvia (Woessner) and Raymond Benschoter. Harmon proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy as a torpedo man during the Korean War. When he returned home, he met Janet (Walerius) and they were married on December 6, 1958. He began working at Johns Manville in the maintenance department and worked his way up to become the plant engineer before retiring after 39 years. Harm was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. After retirement he enjoyed being the captain of his fishing charter on Lake Erie, 'The Last Dime II'. He also enjoyed farming and was always ready to lend a hand when needed. Harm enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was proud to say he had travelled to all 50 states-making the trip to Alaska four years ago to complete this adventure. Harm was a proud life member of the Grand Rapids American Legion Post 232 where he served as Commander for several terms. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Masonic Lodge, Eastern Stars, and a member of the Grand Rapids Calvary Church.
Harm is survived by his loving wife, Janet of 65 years; children, Pam Roberts (Mike), Kevin Benschoter (Denise), Kathy McCollum (Jody); grandchildren, Kristen (Matt), Adrienne, Taylor, Torie, Logan, and Abby; great-grandchildren, Harper, Harlow and Matt. He is survived by brother, Roger (Bonnie); and sister-in-law, Donna; and several nieces and nephews. Harm was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Sylvia Benschoter; and brother, James Benschoter.
Friends are invited to gather Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Calvary Church, 24362 3rd St., Grand Rapids, Ohio 43522. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grand Rapids Calvary Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Harm's favorite charities Flag City Honor Flight, PO Box 885, Findlay, Ohio 45839; or to the Grand Rapids American Legion Post 232, 12580 S. River Rd., Grand Rapids, Ohio 43522 .

Our brother passed on February 27 2024. We will miss him he loved his family and friends. He was a proud gay man and lived it everyday. He liked spending time at Sunny's Campground with his best friend, Shawn and his brother, Mike on the weekends. He loved animals and had numerous over the years. Gene enjoyed many activities including bowling, yoga, and working out at the YMCA. He lived in the south end for years with his father until his passing.
Gene was preceded in death by parents, Rex and Louise; stepfather, Merle; brother, Mike; and 2 nephews, Shawn and Jeremiah.
We will carry on his life in memory. He is survived by 4 sisters, Susan Johnston, Geniene Boyer, Monalee (John) Miles, Maria (Jeff) Newman; and brother, Rex (Joyce) Veitch; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Chaplain Larry Oberdorf from Hospice and Lutheran Church will be giving a small eulogy at a grave side service on April 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery.

A graveside service has been set for Lorene Swearengen who passed away on December 14, 2016, in Owatonna, Minnesota. It will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park, 3665 Genoa Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551. In the event of rain it will be held in the chapel. There will be a luncheon afterwards at 2111 Shoreland Ave., Toledo, OH 43611.
