The parent company of Mercy, which operates seven hospitals in northwest Ohio, has a new name.

Catholic Health Partners has changed its name to Mercy Health. The Cincinnati company said it is Ohio’s largest health system.

In addition to Toledo, Mercy has Ohio facilities in Defiance, Lima, Tiffin, Willard, Lorain, Springfield, and Cincinnati, and Paducah and Irvine, Ky.

The company said the new name will be phased into all of its facilities over the next several years. Also, the company's Web site will change to mercy.com.
