COLUMBUS — The average gas price in Ohio has dropped closer to $2 as the year comes to an end.
The state average was $2.03 for a gallon of regular gas in today’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s 16 cents less than last week and $1.38 per gallon cheaper than a year ago.
The national average today was about $2.29 per gallon. That’s 10 cents cheaper than a week ago and about a dollar less than the average cost at this time last year.

A significant drop in oil prices since summer was one factor expected to boost holiday road travel last week and this week.
