Toledo’s two Costco stores got a visit Thursday from the company’s top brass, the warehouse club’s president and CEO, Craig Jelinek, plus other Costco Wholesale Corp. executives.
Mr. Jelinek and his Issaquah, Wash.-based team were in the region to open a new Costco in Traverse City, Mich. The group began the morning in Traverse City, but afterward veered south to Toledo to visit the company store in Perrysburg, which opened in 2015, and later the Toledo store that opened in 2007.
On his visit the CEO inspected the stores and met with their managers, talked to employees, and posed for photos with workers. At the Toledo store, Mr. Jelinek stopped for lunch — a Costco-brand hot dog. He declined to talk with a Blade reporter.
Afterward, the group departed for Lansing to visit the store there.
