Animal Intake Coordinator Shelly Morrison, left, Behavior Nourishment Coordinator Aja Lebarr and Animal Care employee Katie Roberts process Havanese dogs at the Toledo Area Humane Society in Maumee on Tuesday. After some had been kept in a U-Haul van for a few hours, more than 30 dogs are getting a new start at the Toledo Area Humane Society. The Maumee-based humane law-enforcement organization on Tuesday removed 34 Havanese dogs owned by Mike Keyser and Kimberly Martin of the 2800 block of Wanamaker Drive in West Toledo. Mr. Keyser signed a surrender form giving all of the dogs to the humane society.
