Two girls and 51 adults were arrested recently in Toledo as part of the FBI's Innocence Lost National Initiative, Toledo police said yesterday.
The girls were a 15-year-old from California and a 16-year-old from Michigan, Deputy Chief Don Kenney said.
He refused to disclose where the girls were arrested, their names, or their hometowns, citing an ongoing investigation.
The arrested adults were charged with 64 crimes. Ten people face charges for promoting prostitution, police said.
Seized were 14 vehicles, seven laptop computers, $7,654 in cash, and an undisclosed amount of prescription narcotics and crack cocaine.
Dubbed "Operation Cross Country II," the three-day roundup held from Oct. 21 to Oct. 23 targeted Web sites, massage parlors, and lingerie modeling and nude dancing clubs, police said.
The effort was coordinated by the FBI, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the Department of Justice.
Since the Innocence Lost Initiative was created five years ago, 308 suspects have been convicted, and 433 children have been rescued, authorities said.
