A water main break closed the 500 block of Illinois Avenue in Maumee today, a second such incident in the town in 24 hours, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 10 a.m. An hour later, crews were at the scene working to repair the water main, Maumee police said.

The previous water main break in town occurred about 3:40 p.m. at Conant Street and East Indiana Avenue, officers said. It has been repaired, police said.

The causes of the incidents are under investigation.
