Police: Homeless man charged after taking ambulance to visit strip club

PONTIAC, Mich. — Pontiac authorities have charged a homeless man who they say stole an unattended ambulance parked outside of a hospital to visit a Detroit strip club.

Pontiac police said Bryan Kryscio was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of unlawfully driving away an automobile. He was ordered held on $5,000 bond and will have to wear a tracking device if released.

Police say an EMS employee returned from the McLaren Oakland Hospital when she saw the ambulance driving down a street. The person who called 911 said a cellphone was left inside the unlocked ambulance. Police tracked the vehicle using the cellphone and stopped it in Sterling Heights.

They say Kryscio was the only person inside and the ambulance and equipment weren’t damaged.

Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
