A 50-year-old man was found dead on a sidewalk Friday morning on Sun Valley Boulevard, Sylvania police said.

The man was identified as Gregg Keim, 50.

Capt. Rick Schnoor said a passerby noticed Mr. Keim’s hat in the road and then found his body on the sidewalk in front of Mr. Keim’s home at 5730 Sun Valley Blvd. The Grove Bel neighborhood is off Erie Street near Highland Meadows Golf Club.

Captain Schnoor said Mr. Keim was prone to falling. After speaking with people who knew him, they believe it was an accidental fall and foul play was not involved.

The road was closed for about three hours after the body was found about 6:15 a.m.

Police believe he was on the sidewalk for at least a couple of hours. The Lucas County Coroner’s Office had not completed an autopsy to determine how long he laid there and the cause of death.
