2 arrested in credit card scam at Walmart

Two men were arrested in Perrysburg Township and charged in an alleged fraudulent credit card scam.

Darrell Byrd, 23, of West Bloomfield, Mich., and Melvin Parson, 24, of Southfield, Mich., were charged after an incident about 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart on 10392 Fremont Pike, police said.

Police responded to two people trying to use stolen and fraudulent cards to buy gift cards. The men fled before they were arrested, police said. Officers recovered 20 fraudulent credit and debit cards and about $5,000 in cash.

Their charges include forgery, tampering with evidence, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest.
