Findlay Police have arrested a 58-year-old city man for murder after his estranged wife was found shot to death today.

Onelio Almeida faces murder charges after police found Juanita Almeida, 44, also of Findlay on the ground near 107 Stanford Parkway shortly before 2 p.m.

She had a visible gunshot wound when police found her body, they said. Police did not elaborate regarding where on her body she’d been shot.

Police said they have recovered the gun they believe the suspect used in the shooting and they have no other suspects in the case.

The suspect is in the Hancock County jail. 

An autopsy of the victim will be performed by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, police said.
