Westminster winner Rumor begins victory tour of N.Y.C.

A day after winning best in show at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, Lockenhaus’ Rumor Has It V Kenlyn, or Rumor, as she’s known, began the traditional victory tour around New York City.

Keeping with tradition, Rumor dined at Sardi’s to celebrate her win. She was fed steak from a silver tray.

She also appeared Wednesday morning on The View and sat contentedly on stage between Whoopi Goldberg — who petted the champ — and her handler and co-owner Kent Boyles, who fed her treats every few minutes.

“The judge actually said it was magical watching her go around the ring,” Gail Bisher, a spokesman for the Westminster show, told the program’s panel of hosts.

Earlier on Good Morning America, host Michael Strahan called the once-retired champ “the Michael Jordan of dogs.”

At nearly every stop Wednesday, Mr. Boyles answered questions about Rumor’s future plans by saying she would be looking for “a suitable husband” with whom to have puppies.

Rumor is a 5-year-old female co-bred and co-owned by Pamela McElheney of Lockenhaus German Shepherds in Springfield Township.
