Four dead as plane that took off in Toledo crashes in Florida

VALPARAISO, Fla. — Four people were killed Thursday when a twin-engine civilian airplane crashed at Eglin Air Force Base after having taken off at Toledo Express Airport, air-base authorities said.

The Beechcraft BE-60 turboprop crashed about 10:35 a.m. on runway approach about two miles north of the runway in a densely wooded area on the Eglin Reservation, according to a written statement by Eglin authorities.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane crashed while approaching Destin Executive Airport, which is located across a bay from the base.
