VALPARAISO, Fla. — Four people were killed Thursday when a twin-engine civilian airplane crashed at Eglin Air Force Base after having taken off at Toledo Express Airport, air-base authorities said.
The Beechcraft BE-60 turboprop crashed about 10:35 a.m. on runway approach about two miles north of the runway in a densely wooded area on the Eglin Reservation, according to a written statement by Eglin authorities.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane crashed while approaching Destin Executive Airport, which is located across a bay from the base.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Henry Nowakowski and his wife Patsy, along with his sister Carolyn and her husband Tom Saine.

District One Medical Examiner for Okaloosa County will conduct autopsies of the victims.
The plane is registered to Henry Leasing Company in Ottawa Lake, Mich.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the FAA.
