One person is dead and a firefighter injured in a West Toledo house fire Friday.

Firefighters responded at 4:19 a.m. to a fire at 1761 Georgia Ave., near Jackman Road. They searched the house and found the body of a woman on the first floor, a department spokesman said.

Authorities are not yet releasing the woman’s name, pending family notification.

A firefighter was injured after falling through a hole on the first floor and taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center for evaluation.

Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire.
