DUNDEE, Mich. — Northbound U.S. 23 was reduced to a single lane — and at times closed — for about 12 hours Tuesday after a truck hauling tropical produce overturned north of Dundee and spilled its cargo of bananas, pineapples, and other fruit across the roadway.
The crash reportedly occurred about 2:30 a.m., and Monroe County emergency dispatchers said just before 3 p.m. that the wreckage was recently cleared. There were no injuries.
One southbound lane also was closed for at least a short time during the cleanup.
