Officials are investigating what caused a fire Tuesday afternoon at the Toledo Refining Co. in Oregon.
The fire at the 1819 Woodville Rd. refinery was reported about 3:10 p.m. and extinguished about 20 minutes later, officials said. The refinery’s own internal emergency response team out out the fire. Outside agencies were notified but not requested for assistance.
The fire was in one of the plant’s process units, said Christine Dominique Shultz, a refinery spokesman. No injuries were reported, and everyone was accounted for.
“We were quickly able to shut down the units” affected by the fire, Ms. Shultz said.
Nearby residents shouldn’t be concerned by the incident, the spokesman said.
“Everything is fine and under control, the refinery’s stable, and the community’s safe,” she said.
