WEST UNITY, Ohio — Troopers found a truck driver dead in his tractor’s sleeper compartment Friday afternoon after being sent to an Ohio Turnpike service plaza to check on the driver’s well-being, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
David Day, 63, of New Plymouth, Idaho, was pronounced dead at the scene by Williams County emergency medical services after responding to a call from the state patrol, which had sent troopers to the Indian Meadows Service Plaza shortly after noon. Troopers located the tractor-trailer in the west side of the commercial truck parking area.
No foul play was evident, but an investigation continued later Friday, troopers said.
