ELMORE, Ohio — Two women were killed when a car and a minivan collided head-on Tuesday on State Rt. 105 near Elmore, also injuring a teenager, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Wendy Suter, 55, of Fremont, who was driving the car, was pronounced dead at the scene in Ottawa County’s Harris Township, according to the patrol’s Sandusky post.
Sheri Walters, 50, of Millbury, who was driving the minivan, was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead, the patrol said in a news release.
A passenger in the minivan, a 17-year-old girl whose name was not released, was also transported to St. Vincent with injuries considered not life-threatening.
Mrs. Suter was driving north on Route 105 about 8:15 a.m. when for unknown reasons the car crossed the center line and drove into the path of the minivan, which was southbound on the road.
