Salute to Fallen Heroes

As the nation pauses today to reflect on and honor those men and women of the U.S. military who gave their lives in the service of this country, we turn the clock back to this Toledo Blade photo published on May 30, 1942. At that time, World War 1 was simply referred to as the World War, and World War II was referred to as the new war, or present war.
