BOWLING GREEN — Justin Turner erupted for 29 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists Sunday as a second-half run by the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team put away visiting Drexel 81-71 at the Stroh Center.
The Dragons and Falcons were tied at 60 with fewer than nine minutes remaining in regulation, but Bowling Green mounted a 14-3 run across the next six minutes to assert control of the game.
Demajeo Wiggins added his sixth double-double of the season for the Falcons (4-3) with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Dylan Frye scored 10 points and Daeqwon Plowden added eight points and six rebounds off the bench for Bowling Green.
Drexel (3-3) was led by Troy Harper, who scored 20 points.
The Falcons decided the game with defense by holding Drexel to 9-for-41 shooting (22 percent) from the field in the second half.
Bowling Green is 3-0 at home so far this season.
The Falcons will have five days off before returning the floor at 2 p.m Saturday at Hartford.
