HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Lukas Craggs tallied his ninth goal of the season just 38 seconds into the third period Sunday as the Bowling Green State University hockey team beat Alabama Huntsville 2-1 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Von Braun Center to finish a series sweep.

The Falcons (10-3-2, 5-2-1-1 WCHA), who currently are ranked No. 12 in the latest USCHO.com Division I poll, won Saturday’s game 6-2.

Casey Linkenheld also scored for Bowling Green, which has now won four consecutive games.

Eric Dop made 13 saves for the Falcons to improve to 1-1-1 for the season. Jake Theut stopped 35 shots for UAH to fall to 0-4-0.

Linkenheld got BG on the board at the 11:05 mark of the first, when he converted a one-timer from Shane Bednard and Alex Barber. It was Linkenheld’s fourth the season.

Just 2:35 later, the Falcons committed a defensive error and the puck found its way behind Dop, with Jeffers getting credit for the score.
