KALAMAZOO — The Bowling Green State University Falcons women’s basketball team could not contain Breanna Mobley, as her 23 points on 8 of 10 shooting led Western Michigan to a 69-55 Mid-American Conference victory at Read Fieldhouse.
Mobley completed a double-double by adding 13 rebounds in just 24 minutes of action. Jordan Walker scored 15 points, and Chelayne Bailey had 13 points and a team-high four assists for Western Michigan (14-10, 7-6).
Caterrion Thompson scored 23 points on 8 of 17 shooting to pace Bowling Green (8-17, 1-12 MAC). Thompson made 4 of 9 3-pointers, and she collected a team-high eight rebounds.
Morgan McMillen scored eight points in 18 minutes for the Falcons.
Western Michigan shot 43.9 percent from the field, while BGSU shot 38.2 percent.
Bowling Green has five games remaining on its regular-season schedule. The Falcons return to the Stroh Center for three straight home contests beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. against MAC opponent Buffalo.
Bowling Green’s final home game is Feb. 29 against Kent State.
