Falcons advance to face Bemidji State in WCHA playoffs

FAIRBANKS, Alaska — The Bowling Green State University hockey team completed a sweep of Alaska late Saturday, picking up a 3-2 victory to wrap up the best-of-3 WCHA playoff series.

The victory gives the Falcons a spot in the WCHA semifinals this weekend at Bemidji State, which wrapped up its playoff series Sunday with a 3-1 win over Lake Superior State.

Will Cullen and T.J. Lloyd scored in the third period Saturday to lift the Falcons past Alaska. The win extended Bowling Green’s unbeaten streak to 10 games.

Max Johnson also scored for the Falcons, who had a 36-23 edge in shots on goal. Eric Dop had 21 saves for Bowling Green.
