Central Catholic graduate Michael Warren has been named to a pair of college football preseason watch lists.
The University of Cincinnati junior running back this week landed on lists for the Maxwell Award (national player of the year) and the Doak Walker Award (best running back).
Last season, Warren rushed for 1,329 yards (third-best in team history) and set school records for overall touchdowns (20) and rushing scores (18). He was the first Cincinnati running back to rush for at least 100 yards in four straight games since 1998.
Warren was the 2016 Ohio Mr. Football award winner after his senior year at Central Catholic. His 7,619 career rushing yards ranks seventh in the Ohio High School Athletic Association record book, and his 105 career touchdowns is tied for sixth.
A three-star recruit, Warren chose Cincinnati over Minnesota, Toledo and Kentucky.
