The XFL announced each of its eight teams’ 52-man rosters on Tuesday, and if you’re still deciding which team to root for or become a fan of, consider the finalized rosters as a pseudo-guide to declaring.
Over a dozen players from Ohio State, Michigan, Toledo, and Bowling Green are set to compete. (Early hint: If you’re an Ohio State fan, you may consider rooting for D.C.)
In addition to the college representation, one Toledo-area native can be found on an XFL roster.
The rosters are not finalized as more cuts and moves can still be made, just like in the NFL. Teams will announce starters and depth charts on an individual basis.
Here are the players representing the Blade-area college football schools, along with the teams for which they are currently rostered.
Ohio State (3 players): Cardale Jones, QB, D.C. Defenders; Doran Grant, DB, D.C. Defenders; Tracy Sprinkle, DL, D.C. Defenders.
Michigan (6): Juwann Bushell-Beatty, OL, Houston Roughnecks; De'Veon Smith, RB, Tampa Bay Vipers; Channing Stribling, CB, Seattle Dragons; Jeremy Clark, CB, Seattle Dragons; William Campbell, G, Seattle Dragons; Tyree Kinnel, D.C. Defenders.
Toledo (3): Brant Weiss, OT, New York Guardians; Alonzo Russell, WR, St. Louis BattleHawks; Storm Norton, OT, L.A. Wildcats.
Bowling Green (1): Teo Redding, WR, New York Guardians.
The 10-week XFL season kicks off Feb. 8 as the D.C. Defenders host the Seattle Dragons at 2 p.m. on ABC.
