Toledo sweeps MAC West weekly awards

Following a dramatic 28-21 win over BYU, the University of Toledo football team swept the Mid-American Conference West Division weekly awards.

Junior running back Shakif Seymour was named MAC West offensive player of the week, senior safety Kahlil Robinson is the MAC West defensive player of the week, and freshman kicker Evan Davis is MAC West special teams player of the week.

Seymour rushed 19 times for a season-high 96 yards and a touchdown on the 2-yard run that gave Toledo the 28-21 lead late in the game. He also had an 18-yard touchdown reception.

Robinson earns the defensive award after coming up with a game-changing interception that set up the two-yard run from Seymour. Robinson intercepted a pass from BYU quarterback Zach Wilson and returned it to the Cougars' 2-yard line with less than a minute left in the game. Robinson added four tackles and a pass breakup in the game.

Davis connected on field goals from 45 and 26 yards against BYU, as he added on to his season total of made field goals, which is now six without a miss.
