Freshman Quinesha Lockett scored 16 points to lead the University of Toledo women's basketball team to a 70-61 win in an exhibition game with Tiffin on Sunday at Savage Arena.
Senior Mariella Santucci, junior Tanaya Beacham and freshman Mali Morgan-Elliott added nine points each for the Rockets. Santucci added eight assists and eight rebounds, while Beacham grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Toledo.
Payton Vogel paced Tiffin with 16 points and Savanah Richards added 13 points.
Toledo got out to a 27-12 lead in the first quarter thanks to a 9-of-14 mark from the field and six points each from Lockett and Morgan-Elliott.
The Rockets led 38-31 at halftime and 50-43 after three quarters. Toledo put the game away with a 10-1 run in the fourth.
Toledo was 20-of-53 from the field and made just 1-of-13 3-point field goal attempts and went 29-of-50 (58 percent) from the free throw line.
