FINDLAY – Five University of Toledo players scored in double figures as the Rockets earned a 75-68 win over Findlay in an exhibition game at Croy Gymnasium on Sunday.
Luke Knapke led the way for Toledo with 18 points and nine rebounds, Marreon Jackson added 13 points, Willie Jackson notched a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Spencer Littleson and Keshaun Saunders chipped in with 11 points each.
"We were down seven at halftime and our guys stayed together,” Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk said in a release. “We cut down our turnovers in the second half and that limited the transition points they were scoring. I'd like to play exhibitions on the road like this more often, because it was an opportunity for us to learn from our mistakes by playing a team that's well-coached in a loud environment."
Aaron Overhiser led the way for Findlay with 15 points.
The Rockets trailed 34-27 at halftime, but scored 48 points in the second half and used a 13-0 run late in the game to pull away from the Oilers.
Toledo was 6-of-24 from the 3-point line and 25-of 59 from the field.
