Toledo football adds pair of 2021 commitments

The University of Toledo football team made a splash on the recruiting trail on Sunday, picking up two commitments for its 2021 class.

The Rockets got a pledge from Central Catholic linebacker Jalen Riven, as well as Brother Rice (Chicago) running back Willie Shaw III.

Shaw, a 3-star recruit according to 247Sports, is now the top-ranked player in Toledo's 2021 class and the 19th ranked player in his class in Illinois. He chose Toledo over offers from Big Ten schools Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Nebraska, according to 247 Sports.

Toledo's 2021 class now consists of 12 players and has given the Rockets the second-best class in the MAC behind only Miami.
