WLQR-FM 106.5 The Ticket dropping ESPN

Changes to CBS Sports programming

The new year will bring new voices to local airwaves as Mike and Mike in the Morning, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and other popular ESPN radio sportscasts are dropped from WLQR-FM 106.5 The Ticket.

Beginning Jan. 2, the sports station is launching a new lineup of syndicated CBS Sports Radio programming, beginning with sportscasters Brandon Tierney and Dana Jacobson, along with former NFL player Tiki Barber broadcasting from 6 to 9 a.m., sportswriter and commentator John Feinstein from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and popular sportscaster Jim Rome from 1 to 3 p.m. Local show The Front Row with Norm Warner will continue in its 3 to 5 p.m. slot, as will Drive Time from 5 to 7 p.m.

Cumulus Media Inc., which owns WLQR, was recently named the CBS Radio Network exclusive syndicator and sales partner, and the media company will make CBS Sports Radio programming available on 67 of its stations nationwide.
