The Toledo Ballet has again teamed up with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra to stage The Nutcracker in a magical holiday tradition that never gets old. The perennial holiday crowd-pleaser, Toledo Ballet's signature event, features dazzling costumes, creative sets, and spectacular dancing. The prima ballerina will be Olga Pavlova, who has performed in this production before. The remaining cast is mostly local dancers. The ages of the performers range from 7 to 70. The Nutcracker will be performed at the Stranahan Theater at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $19 to $49. For tickets call 419-381-8851.

More than 35 elaborately decorated trees will be on display throughout the Toledo Club for the annual Parade of Trees. The formal event runs Tuesday and Wednesday and Dec. 20 and 21 at the stately club at 235 14th St. The event is open to the public by reservation only. The trees are donated by area businesses and range in theme. Past themes have included everything from birds, angels, and baseball to patriotic, nautical, and Santa. Bids will be accepted. A holiday buffet is available before and after the tour. Tickets for the buffet are $25 for adults and $12 for children ages 5 to 11. No gym shoes or denim. For reservations, call 419-243-2200.
