Perrysburg resident and longtime professional jazz favorite Gene Parker will take center stage, Thursday, June 28, 7 p.m. at Music at the Market, 140 E. Commodore Square, Perrysburg.
Presented by Perrysburg Area Arts Council and sponsored by the City of Perrysburg, the concert is free and open to the public.
Parker has been making music for more than 40 years. He is a former saxophone instructor at Bowling Green State University and previous director of both University of Toledo Jazz Studies and University Jazz Faculty Ensemble. He also directed the Toledo Jazz Band and Toledo Jazz Symphony.
Currently, Parker leads a Vibe Trio, a jazz quartet which is part of the Arts in Education program for Toledo Public Schools. He also plays with the Parker/Cook Jazz Quintet, and the Parker/Wolkins Big Band.
