Elmo's Super Heroes to descend on Toledo

Huntington Center to host Toledo Fight Night

Have no fear, Elmo is here. Captain Fuzzy and his superhero friends are coming to Toledo to help Super Grover find his super-ness. Sesame Street Live: Elmo's Super Heroes, featuring Elmo as Captain Fuzzy, will run Friday through Sunday at SeaGate Convention Centre. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday; 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and 1 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $13, $16, $19, $26, and $51. On Friday, all riser seats are $13. Monroe native Bronco "Superman" McKart will defend his UBO Middleweight World Championship title Saturday at Toledo Fight Night at the Huntington Center. Fight Night will feature McKart as the headliner and Toledo's Ed Wahl, making his professional boxing debut. Wahl has an amateur record of 158-12. He is a nine-time Toledo Golden Glove Champion and a three-time National Silver Glove Champion. McKart has a record of 53 wins, 9 losses, and more than 30 knockouts. The first fight begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $17, $27, $32, and $77 and are available at the Huntington Center box office, 419-321-5007 and ticketmaster.com. Toledo-Lucas County Library branches will celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month Saturday and the 35th Anniversary of Star Wars Tuesday. The Kent Branch, 3101 Collingwood Blvd., will celebrate jazz Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. with a performance by Gene Parker, children's activities, and a tribute to Toledo's jazz heritage. On Tuesday the West Toledo Branch, 1320 Sylvania Ave., will celebrate Star Wars. The free event will feature intergalactic activities for the whole family. Costumes are encouraged. The Polka Party with Sharon Zablocki radio show celebrates its 65th anniversary with a dinner/dance Sunday at St. George Banquet Hall, 738 Glenwood Rd., Rossford. The event will be from 2 to 8 p.m. with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. and dinner served at 3. Dancing will be from 4 to 8. Tickets are $25 and include dinner, dancing, and an open bar.
