Chemical fire’s cause remains undetermined

The cause of a large chemical plant fire in central Toledo remains undetermined but appears to be accidental, authorities said.

An investigation into the March 2 fire at Lithium Innovations in the 1300 block of Campbell Street yielded limited evidence, Toledo Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Pvt. Sterling Rahe said, but added that no criminal activity is suspected.

The fire caused nearly $2 million in damages, he said.
