The Lucas County Board of Elections on Thursday approved pay increases for full-time staff equal to raises received by most of Lucas County employees.

The board approved a 1.5 percent pay increase for its staff and a $500 lump-sum payment. That was equivalent to raises given to most county union employees and its nonunionized staff.

The pay raise is retroactive to Jan. 1 and applies to about 20 employees.
