Veteran politician Peter Ujvagi swept yesterday's election for the vacant seat in House District 47, while Teresa Fedor did the same in Senate District 11, according to unofficial election tallies.
With 113 of the 124 precincts in that district reporting, the East Toledo Democrat had outdrawn his opponent, Republican newcomer Allen Roy, by more than a 2-1 margin.
“I am very heartened by the strength of support throughout the district,” Mr. Ujvagi said. “The early indications are that we did very, very strongly in all areas.”
A win by Mr. Ujvagi would leave a vacancy on Toledo City Council.
