Sears will close its store at the Westgate Village Shopping Center as the retailer continues to struggle with plummeting revenues and wide losses.
Sears Holding Corp., confirmed to The Blade that it will close the Westgate location in mid-September. The store includes an auto center, which will close in late July.
Business Insider reported Thursday that 21 Sears locations that will soon be shuttered.
Sears Holding Corp., which controls both Sears and Kmart, announced plans earlier this year to close 42 Sears stores and 108 Kmart locations in 40 states this spring. That wave of closures included a Kmart in Adrian. Last week, the Illinois-based company said it would eliminate approximately 400 full-time corporate office and global support positions.
Sears Holding has lost $10.4 billion since 2011, including a loss of $2 billion last year.
