Mock leaving Ch. 24 for co-anchor job in S.C.

WNWO-TV, Channel 24 is about to lose yet another anchor.

Weekend anchor/reporter Andrea Mock will work her final day at the NBC station Sunday.

Mock is headed for WLTX-TV in Columbia, S.C., where she signed a three-year contract to serve as co-anchor of the 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts at the CBS affiliate.

She is moving to South Carolina along with her soon-to-be husband, Chris Todaro, a captain and F-16 pilot who has been assigned to Shaw Air Force Base. They are getting married June 9.

Mock, from Warren, Ohio, said she is leaving behind a lot of friends at Channel 24, where she has worked since April, 2005.

"I know our ratings aren't great, but I loved NBC 24," she said. "It was a great place to work. Everyone works so hard here, and it's a wonderful group of people. We were hustling every day, just like the other stations.

"I will be leaving behind some of my very best friends, but Chris and I plan to move back to Ohio when we can."

Before joining WNWO, Mock was an anchor/executive producer for the morning and noon newscasts at WDTV-TV in Clarksburg/Morgantown, W.Va. And it grabbed another in the news series category for weekend anchor/reporter Bill Hormann's work on "Truth Test," which examined the accuracy of claims made in political advertisements.

Hormann previously was named the 2007 national winner of the prestigious Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism for the same series.

•WTOL-TV evening anchor/reporter Chrys Peterson won a regional Murrow Award in the features category for a story called "Little People in a Big World."
